A Magical Year
What an exciting year 2015 was for me, Rua Ruth and The Lost Fashion History of Dublin Tours. Here are some of the highlights.
Man on Bridge
The year started with the amazing Man on Bridge documentary and exhibition which I was overjoyed to be part of. See my review of the exhibition here and of course you can see a snippet from the documentary and time travel to early twentieth century Dublin here.

The Hive Digital Storytelling
The HIVE Digital Storytelling conference brought me to Berlin this year, what a creative city! And the good news is the HIVE will be hosted from Dublin this year.

The Lost Fashion History of Dublin Tours
My summer tours of The Lost Fashion History of Dublin were a sell out success and a was lucky enough to receive a lot of press. Every month for the duration of the summer I showcased the hidden fashion and textile history of Dublin from Merrion Square, South William Street, O’Connell Street, The Liberties and of course Grafton Street – the most popular tour of all. I will be bringing the tours back for 2016 with some very special Centenary tours of O’Connell Street. Stay tuned to the blog for more information on dates.

The History of The Skirt RTE 1
I recorded a short piece for The Business Show on RTE, it was the most terrifying and fun half an hour of my life, listen to it again here.
Sicilian Adventures
I got to live out a dream of being Audrey Hepburn flying about Sicily on a moped in a 1950s skirt with the wind in my hair. It doesn’t get better than this! The Villa Romana Roman mosaics in Piazza Armenia were also breathtaking and the Aeolian islands I am still dreaming of your turquoise waters. You might some Sicilian photography popping up here and on Instagram in January to remind us there are places where the sun shines.
Wishing you and yours a magic 2016! Here’s to making it the most stylish, most memorable and most adventurous ever.
Stay tuned for a new look Rua Ruth coming this January.
