What is Irish style? Delving into the History of Irish fashion the last number of years this question has always fascinated and flummoxed me. Posing the question just comes with more questions. How do we define what Irish style is? Is it a way of dressing or a particular style or fabrication developed from folk dress. Which cities have we been influenced by style-wise? London, Paris, New york or Dublin? We’re not known for fashion and yet we are the greatest producers of linens, tweeds and lace.  It’s my mission to champion and celebrate  the history of  Irish style.  The Vintage Sessions has become my platform. For my talk this weekend I picked 5 stylish Irish from the 1900s-1950s to discuss their unique style and beauty and hopefully offered some ideas about what Irish style might mean.  I hope come and hear the talk and if not tell me what you think in the comment box below?
