French Lace

Last month I visited my lovely friends, Annik and Hugh in the Lot-et-Garonne region of France. It’s a very pretty, fruitful land with medieval villages, vineyards and chateaux sitting upon hilltops. Spring had just arrived and the countryside was dotted with the prettiest apple blossom trees, not unlike the Irish equivalent but with something uniquely different to them. As we whizzed by the fields in the car the trees became frilly patches of white and pink which I thought looked like French lace trims edging fields. I  the had to stop to take some photos, here’s the result, I hope you enjoy.
