Costumes from The Crown

Detail of costume for Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth 2 with sparkling bow brooch. (I want one).

I went on a lovely jaunt to London last week which led me back to many old haunts, one of them being my old work place Liberty of London. I was smitten by their Christmas window inspired by The Nutcracker which was dressed with a Royal Ballet inspired set, complete with twirling ballerina shoes and waving fans.

But the window that most caught my eye was the one dedicated to the costumes from the Netflix series The Crown. I have enjoyed this sumptuous series by Peter Morgan so much,  Claire Foy depicting the Queen’s prim yet steely demeanour is incredible,  and the 1950s costumes are beautiful, especially the costumes of Princess Margaret Rose. If you haven’t seen the series you should tune in immediately, and see above and below some photos I took of the details from the original costumes from the series which are on display in Liberty on Floor 2.
