Pegasus

Pegasus statue at Powerscourt Gardens in Wicklow

Ahh Pegasus what a majestic and mythical creature! I love this beautiful statue which flanks the fountain at Powerscourt Gardens in Wicklow. These  golden winged creatures are mighty enough to make you believe in their legend. I first came across Pegasus when I worked with a Greek girl in London. She was the managers of a luxury store and we were selling a golden Pegasus necklace which I really wanted. She said that Greek’s also believe it is a symbol of good luck and that it symbolised the spiritual energy that allows access to the realm of the gods on Mount Olympus or in this case The Sugar Loaf! It captured my imagination as a good luck symbol then and in the gardens of Powerscourt an even more potent symbol.
