Rua Ruth loves

There’s lots to love about 2015. Here are some of my favourite things I collected from around the web this week to get you started…

Ever wanted to look into the wardrobe of Frida Kahlo? Messy Nessy Chic opens the doors.

I’m loving the musings of  my lovely friend and Vintage collaborator Irene O’Brien who writes her blog “Why didn’t I live in the 1940s?” The 1940s were robbed of you Irene. See here her latest blog on the beauty of newfangled technology we now call Skype.

The French queen of street-style blogging Garance Dore shares how she is inspired by the world of that Kiss by Robert Doisneau.

It’s amazing what you can find under floorboards, even better than finding The Borrowers were these  tickets which were found  from the Antiquarian Cycling Society in The National Gallery of Ireland. Via The Daily Edge.

Every age thinks they invented the trends of the moment- we didn’t. I love how this street style photographer-a famous artist-Linley Sambourne from the Edwardian period took these amazing photographs of women in Notting Hill- definitely one of the first street style photographers. Linley Sambourne was a cartoonist and illustrator whose home is now a perfectly preserved Victorian home and a must-see destination when in London. See here.

The year of Yeats 2015 has begun in Sligo with Hargadons pub on O’Connell Street in Sligo doing ‘Yeats at One’ poetry readings for the duration of the year. I also love Annie West’s fun illustration,  of Yeats outside Hargadons here.
