Rua Ruth Loves…

Vintage bag I found in Portabello Road Market, London

Here’s some fun tidbits I gathered from around the net, new Twitter people to follow and events to put on your radar. Guaranteed to cure the January blues.

Check out this film from the 1920s which shows ‘How to change a Mourning Dress into an Evening Dress’ 1920s style. Watch on the British Film Institute player, thank you to fellow NCADer Tara Breathnach for the link.

The screen goddess who launched a thousand (attempted) dips in the Trevi Fountain passed away this week. But nobody did it quite like her! Here’s a great tribute to Anita Ekberg’s life and style. See the iconic La Dolce Vita moment here.

I spotted this amazing Twitter feed this week- Lansbury Reactions, anyone who loves Murder She Wrote and the amazing actress Angela Lansbury will love, it made me howl. Follow here!

The Chester Beatty Library are doing a series of Qigong meditations on their stunning rooftop garden in Dublin castle. The next one is February 21st which will be practiced out of doors (weather permitting) or indoors with a view of the roof garden. Its free and there’s no need to book but arrive early. See more here.

Ever wanted to name a Rose? Here’s your chance via the Irish Horticultural Society and The Irish Times– how about the Rua Ruth variety of rose?
